Thames Gateway Kent has an excellent network of primary, secondary, state and independent schools. The recently published School & College Performance League tables for GCSE results identified pupils in Kent and Medway achieving higher than the national average in their GCSE results. Kent and Medway primary schools are also on a par with the national average for achievement.

With a commitment to life long learning, Thames Gateway Kent is investing in a better education for its dynamic and growing population. There are 10,000 young, well-educated and motivated students with the opportunity to work and live in a fast developing location.
Thames Gateway Kent is home to the Universities at Medway and the University College for the Creative Arts. The University at Medway is a unique partnership which has brought together the University of Greenwich, The University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University and Mid Kent College at a shared college at Chatham Maritime. The £120 million scheme is the first of its kind in the country and aims to increase student numbers in Medway to more than 10,000 by 2012.
There are strong links between Thames Gateway Kent’s universities, R&D facilities and business, including some tailor-made courses for individual companies. These connections nurture knowledge based learning to help ensure that potential employees are ‘work-ready' and 'training-fit' for business.
