Thintech Online, a company providing virtual desktop solutions for businesses, moved to Medway in August 2009. Now with headquarters at the Innovation Centre Medway in Rochester the company, initially run from home, has employed 7 new staff and now looks after five Kent-based clients, which cover 100 computer users.

World famous shirt tailor Thomas Pink has opened a new warehouse and distribution centre in Thames Gateway Kent.

Thoroughbred Genetics
Dr Stephen Harrison’s combined a passion for flat horseracing and his genetics degree to launch a business at Kent Science Park in 2000. Thoroughbred Genetics undertook a six-year study into DNA analysis to identify of the ‘speed gene’. It developed its 1st Blood™ product whose genetic data effectively ‘fast-tracks’ horses possessing or passing on the right performance gene combinations.

Vanquis Bank, Financial Services
A reputation as one of the best call centre locations in the UK has inspired FTSE 100 company, Provident Financial plc, to open its Vanquis Bank call centre at Chatham Maritime Business Park in Medway.
